Window Tinting

Tint is about more than the look. The right film cuts glare and cabin heat, adds privacy for whatever is left in the car, and protects the interior from UV fading – fitted so cleanly it looks like factory glass.

01 · The problem

Glare, heat and glass you can see straight through

Untinted glass lets the sun heat the cabin, throws glare into your eyes, fades and cracks the interior over time, and shows everyone what is on the back seat. A poorly fitted tint adds its own problems: bubbles, purple fading, peeling edges and contamination trapped under the film.

02 · Assessment

Legal limits and the right shade

UK law sets minimum light transmission for the windscreen and front side windows; there is no limit on rear side windows or the rear screen. We check what your glass already transmits from the factory, discuss the look and privacy you want, and recommend a shade for each window that is road-legal and consistent all round.

03 · Treatment

Cut, shaped and fitted to your glass

The glass is cleaned inside and out and the door cards and seals are protected. Film is cut and heat-shaped to the exact curve of each window, then applied to the inside of the glass and squeegeed out so no contamination or moisture is left underneath. Edges are trimmed cleanly to the glass line.

04 · The result

Cooler, calmer, private – and it looks factory

A cooler cabin, less glare, interior protected from UV, and a cleaner exterior line that suits the car. Properly fitted film is invisible at the edges, free of bubbles and haze, and stays that way.

05 · Protection & maintenance

Aftercare

Film needs a few days to cure fully. Windows stay up during that time and any slight haze or small moisture pockets clear as the film dries out. After that, the tint is cleaned like any other glass – with an ammonia-free cleaner and a soft cloth.

01Is window tinting legal in the UK?

Yes, within limits. The front windscreen must let at least 75% of light through and the front side windows at least 70%. There is no legal limit for rear side windows or the rear windscreen. We only fit road-legal film on the front windows and advise on what your glass already transmits.

02What shades are available?

From a light, factory-privacy look through to a very dark rear. We will show you samples against your own glass and recommend a shade per window so the car looks consistent from outside.

03Will the tint bubble or fade?

Properly fitted quality film should not. Bubbling and purple fading are hallmarks of cheap dyed film or contamination trapped during fitting – both of which we avoid. Small moisture pockets in the first days are normal and clear as the film cures.

04Can existing old tint be removed?

Yes. Old, bubbled or illegal film can be removed and the glass cleaned of adhesive before new film is fitted. Tell us what is on the car when you ask for a quote.
