Ceramic Coating

A ceramic coating is a hard, chemically bonded layer over your paint. It resists UV, road salts, bird lime and wash marring far better than wax, sheds water and dirt, and keeps a corrected finish looking corrected. The result depends entirely on the preparation underneath it.

01 · The problem

Why wax is not enough

Wax and spray sealants sit on the surface and wash away within weeks, leaving the clear coat exposed to UV, acid rain, bird lime, road salt and the grit that causes swirl marks. New cars arrive with dealer wash marks and no meaningful protection; older cars have been unprotected for years.

02 · Assessment

Preparation decides the result

A coating locks in whatever is underneath it, so the paint has to be right first. We inspect and measure the paint, then agree the level of correction needed – a single refining stage for a new car, a fuller correction for a used one. We also discuss which surfaces you want protected: paint, wheels, glass, trim, interior fabrics.

03 · Treatment

Applied in a controlled environment

The car is safely washed and fully decontaminated, the paint is polished to the agreed level, and every panel is wiped down to remove polishing oils so the coating can bond. The coating is then applied panel by panel, levelled by hand under inspection lighting, and left to cure in the studio before the car goes back out in the weather.

04 · The result

A hard, glass-like finish that stays clean

Coated paint has a deeper, wetter gloss and a slick surface that water beads on and dirt struggles to grip. Washing becomes quicker and safer because less scrubbing is needed, and the correction underneath is protected from the everyday marks that would otherwise creep back.

05 · Protection & maintenance

Looking after a coated car

A coating is durable, not invincible. It still needs washing – just less aggressively. We explain the first-week curing rules, safe washing, and the maintenance products that top the coating up rather than fight it. Expected lifespan depends on the coating chosen, the car’s use and how it is washed; we set that out honestly when we quote.

01How long does a ceramic coating last?

It depends on the coating chosen, how the car is used and how it is washed afterwards. We will recommend an appropriate coating for your car and explain the expected lifespan and aftercare when we quote – we do not quote lifespans we cannot stand behind.

02Does a new car need paint correction before coating?

Usually a light one. New cars typically arrive with dealer wash marks and transport residue. A single refining stage removes these so the coating seals a clean finish rather than a swirled one.

03Can I still wash the car normally?

You should wash it safely – two buckets, a soft wash mitt, pH-neutral shampoo and drying towels. Automatic car washes and harsh chemicals will shorten the life of any coating. We give you a simple aftercare guide at handover.

04Can wheels, glass and trim be coated too?

Yes. Coated wheels shed brake dust more easily, coated glass clears rain faster, and trim coatings keep plastics dark. Tell us what you want covered and we will quote accordingly.
