Motorway miles put stone chips in the front of a car no coating can stop. Paint protection film is a clear, tough urethane layer fitted over the paint on the areas that take the hits, so the damage happens to the film – not to the car.
01 · The problem
Stone chips, road-rash on the bumper, scuffs on door edges and sills, gravel on the rear arches: impact damage goes through the clear coat to the primer. Polishing cannot remove it and touch-ups never match. On a new or freshly corrected car it is the first thing to spoil the finish.
02 · Assessment
We look at how and where the car is driven and recommend coverage to match: the front-end essentials, a full front, or extended coverage. Any existing chips are discussed honestly – film protects what is underneath, it does not hide it – and the paint is corrected before film goes on so nothing is sealed in.
03 · Treatment
Panels are decontaminated and polished so the surface is spotless. The film is cut to the panel, applied wet and squeegeed out so no moisture or contamination is trapped, then edges are wrapped or finished cleanly to the panel line so the film is near-invisible.
04 · The result
The car looks exactly as it did – glossy, clear, with no visible edges – but the areas that take stones and scuffs are shielded by a self-healing layer. Light swirls in the film disappear with heat; chips stop at the film.

Film is washed like paint – safely – and can be ceramic coated for extra gloss and easier cleaning. Pressure washers are kept away from the edges. We explain the first days of curing and how to care for it at handover.
Fitted properly, it is very hard to see. Edges are wrapped or finished cleanly to the panel lines and the film itself is clear and glossy. On close inspection you may find an edge; from a normal distance the car looks untouched.
The front bumper, bonnet leading edge, wing leading edges and mirrors take most of the damage. Full-front coverage adds the whole bonnet and wings. Sills, rear arches and door edges are common additions on cars that see gravel or tight parking.
It can, but it will not hide them. For the best result the paint is corrected first and any chips are addressed before film goes on. We are honest about what will and will not be visible.
